Since the first time I watched "The Terminator" (1984) I was mesmerized by the brutal dark future of James Camerons 2029 A.D.

The world a nuclear wasteland, every day a struggle to survive against silver chrome killer machines with improvised armored civilian vehicles with stolen plasma guns...

After Terminator and Terminator 2 I wished there would be a complete movie about this post-apocalyptic future. A war movie, how the Resistance defeat Skynet and John Connor send his best man Kyle Reese into the past.

Then there was the abyssmal Terminator 3. No need to explain this.

The announced Terminator 4, and I was hyped again. Finally a movie about the great vision of James Cameron. But no, we got a brown wasteland with a brooding Batman. Some ideas was neat, like the international resistance in a nuclear submarine.

Skynet herself was a pure letdown. What was her plan again? You suck at terminating people!

I still hope in the year 2019, when James Cameron get his Terminator franchise back, there will be a true blue-dark war movie in the grim dark future of 2029 A.D.
